German A1 for Thai learners, explained in Thai

GERMANYUM is built for Thai adults starting German from the beginning. Thai carries the explanation; German is the language you read, understand, speak and write.

How the two languages divide the work

Thai explains, German is learned

Explanations are written in Thai so that an adult beginner can follow how German actually works, instead of memorising isolated translations.

The German material itself stays in German. This page is an information page in English — the lessons themselves are not translated into English.

  • Thai
explains meaning, function and the learning step.
  • German
is the material to read, understand, speak and write.
  • PRON
is pronunciation help written in Thai script — help, not a guarantee.
  • WIEDERHOLUNG
deliberately reuses material the learner already knows.

Current state

What is available today

Module 1 is available with 7 chapters, 23 lessons, 69 exercises and 69 solutions. Module 2 is German working material still in development and not released. There is no learning content and no date for the later modules.

We describe the state as it is. Nothing unfinished is presented as finished.

For the person helping

If a German speaker is supporting the learner

A German-speaking partner can help with pronunciation and speaking practice.

Module 1 has 23 partner units. Each unit belongs to exactly one self-study lesson. The partner does not teach and does not replace self-study.
